Wells, like Jules Verne crafted these fantastic stories but maybe with a bit more science fiction edge. Like Verne, many of his stories have been adapted over the years into movies. The Time Machine, The Invisible Man, The War of the Worlds, The Island of Doctor Moreau, The First Men in the Moon and The Shape of Things to Come to name some of his more popular works. Many of his imagined stories would have elements come true through the advancement of technology. Certainly we’ve had men on the moon but not yet “in” the moon and we’ve seen animal hybridization similar to Dr. Moreau’s experiments. Personally I can’t wait for the time machine to become a reality.
