Like Lucille Ball, I thought Carol Burnett was a trailblazer in television comedy. Lucy was pretty much Lucy all the time, but Carol created all kinds of hilarious characters for her variety show. The lovable tramp, Momma, Scarlett O’Hara and I always loved when she did the Tarzan yell which my mom would also do when I begged her. The other actors on the show were also great, Tim Conway, Harvey Korman, Vicki Lawrence and Kyle Waggoner. It was hilarious to watch Tim try to crack them up until they broke character. The show had an 11 year run between 1967 and 1978. Carol also went on to play serious roles in a number of excellent movies. Definitely a multi-talented woman.
